The Northern Lights display at BC Place will glow blue and yellow Wednesday, October 2, in support of BC Cancer Foundation’s Ride to Conquer Cancer.

The special lighting of BC Place’s Northern Lights roof display will mark “Gear Up Day” – the official launch of the Ride to Conquer Cancer which will take place on June 14 and 15 of next year. The Ride is a 2-day, 200+ km cycling event between Vancouver and Seattle to raise vital funds for personalized cancer medicine research at the BC Cancer Foundation.

The stadium roof façade – known as the Northern Lights Display – uses 1700 ‘ETFE’ panels, stacked four rows high, and 6,800 linear feet of energy-efficient LED lights to create customizable lighting displays. BC Place has used the entire roof to promote specific events, create seasonal displays and raise awareness for community and charitable organizations.
