BC pharmacist prescribes "Monster Spray" to fight boy's fear of the dark

There are fewer monsters lurking in Prince George thanks to a local pharmacist.

Like many kids, Heather Garfield‘s son is afraid of the dark and the scary things it may hide. When she asked her local Shoppers Drug Mart to print a label for Monster Spray, pharmacist Jepal Patel happily obliged.

Now with a nightly spritz of the special spray, Garfield can ensure her son’s bedroom is boogeyman-free.

Garfield posted a photo of the label, which she affixed to a plastic spray bottle, to The Hart Community Facebook group on Tuesday. It has since been shared more than 2,000 times.

“I love our shoppers location and the way they take care of our family he is so excited for bed tonight…and so is mama lol,” she wrote.

Hundreds of commenters shared their appreciation for the Prince George location on Garfield’s post, with some saying they’d like an adult version for insomnia.

Patel herself responded, saying she was overwhelmed by the community’s response.

“I am so glad that I was able to help,” wrote Patel. “We will continue to keep up the good work.”
