25 provincial parks near Metro Vancouver are reopening this long weekend

BC Parks is reminding visitors that despite some parks reopening, physical distancing measures remain in full effect. Visitors should bring their own hand sanitizer and are asked to practice appropriate hygiene. If you are sick, please stay home. And remember to only visit parks that are close to home.
BC is opening many provincial parks for day use in time for the Victoria Day long weekend, but hikers should check before heading out to make sure their chosen trail is open.
Many popular parks for Metro Vancouverites remain closed. Joffre Lakes, Mount Seymour Provincial Park, Cypress Provincial Park, Bowen Island Ecological Reserve, Porteau Cove and Garibaldi Provincial Park are not accepting visitors yet.
Keep in mind that park staff will be enforcing physical distancing measures at open parks, such as limiting the number of vehicles allowed to park at one time.
Outdoor enthusiasts can check out these parks that are open as of Thursday, May 14. Please remember to only visit parks that are close to home.

Remember that certain facilities at the parks could still be closed, and camping won’t be allowed until June.
The BC government closed all provincial parks in early April to prevent wildfires from starting during the COVID-19 pandemic.
