BC to Get a New Stat Holiday Starting in February 2013

Dec 19 2017, 1:08 pm

The people of B.C. have been asking for a stat holiday in February for a long time and now it looks like they are going to finally get their wish as the third Monday of February will now be known as “Family Day”. This was announced during today’s 2011 provincial throne speech. Looks like the Liberals are trying to buy your votes once again. Then again, that is the nature of politics.

I think most will agree that a statutory holiday was sorely needed in that month and this news will be welcomed by many.

Family Day is already a holiday in Alberta, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Prince Edward Island.
