A BC man has been arrested and charged with manslaughter following a year-long investigation.

A release from the Calgary Police Service states that 58-year-old Dale Topalinski was arrested on Wednesday, July 8, on manslaughter charges related to a homicide that occurred in Calgary in March of 2019.

According to the release, 66-year-old Harry Jones had been found dead at around 1:10 pm on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Red Carpet Inn in northwest Calgary.

Police believed that an altercation had taken place in or around where Jones was staying, at room 44. Police also noted that they believe it to have been a targeted event.

After appealing to the public for information to aid in the investigation and issuing a Canada-wide warrant, police found that the suspect, Topalinski, was likely living in Kamloops, BC.

Topalinski is expected to appear in court on Thursday, July 16.
