Here's who won the BC Lions' Pamela Anderson look-alike contest

More than 36 years after Pamela Anderson was discovered at a BC Lions game, the team has discovered her look-alike.

The Baywatch star’s career was launched in 1989, when cameras caught the 21-year-old Ladysmith, B.C., native in the crowd wearing a Labatt’s crop top. That led to a gig as a Labatt’s “beer girl,” before she headed to Hollywood, landing roles on Married with Children in 1990, Home Improvement in 1991, and Baywatch in 1992. Anderson also landed on the cover of Playboy a record 14 times.

“I was at a football game,” Anderson said, recalling her discovery during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon earlier this year. “I was at a BC Lions game, and I had a Labatt’s T-shirt on and the cameraman zoomed in on me and put me up on the Jumbotron… and then people called and Playboy called and I came to L.A.”

“It was my first plane ride.”

The Lions held a Pamela Anderson look-alike contest before Friday’s game, and multiple women came dressed for the part.

A top 10 was chosen by the judges, before three finalists were picked and shown on the big screen inside BC Place. Fans in attendance then chose the winner.

And the winner is…

Heidi Haraldson won the Pamela Anderson look-alike contest (BC Lions)

Heidi Haraldson, who came dressed in full Baywatch attire, was named the Pamela Anderson look-alike winner. She won $1,000 cash, as well as a one-day modelling contract, where she’ll feature in an exclusive BC Lions merch photoshoot.

The Lions were also winners, ending a two-game losing streak with a 38-27 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks. The Lions are narrowly holding on to a playoff spot with a 6-7 record with just five games left in the regular season. If the playoffs started today, they’d play the Montreal Alouettes as a West Division crossover team in the East Division bracket.

Next up for BC is a road game against the Calgary Stampeders (8-4). Their next home game is against the Toronto Argonauts on Sept. 26.
