Travel + Leisure magazine is renowned for its coverage of luxury travel destinations and experiences, and its annual World’s Best Awards recognize the top hotels worldwide based on reader votes and editorial expertise.
The Fairmont Empress topped the list with its stunning waterfront views, distinguished history, and recent renovations and updates. It also came in second in 2024.
Located in Victoria’s Inner Harbour, “Canada’s Castle on the Coast” is renowned for its stunning architecture and famous traditional afternoon tea. The Fairmont Empress has been an iconic landmark since 1908.
The luxurious hotel chain also saw its Fairmont Pacific Rim place at number seven on the list and The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver coming in at number nine.
