B.C. waterfall's mesmerizing 'ice cone' has returned and here's how to see it

If you’ve been looking to keep your travel within B.C., a five-hour road trip to see one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the province that forms a massive ice cone should be on your list.
Helmcken Falls is the fourth highest waterfall in Canada and can be found in the Thompson Nicola Region’s Wells Gray Provincial Park.
Helmcken Falls drops 141 metres into a canyon, making for a picture-perfect sight.
In the colder months, the base of the falls turns into a huge ice cone, which continues to grow as more ice forms.

“The viewing platform hangs over the lip of the canyon, providing a panoramic view of the Murtle River tumbling in the distance. Access is 49 km up the park road (Clearwater Valley Road),” it states.
Those looking for a viewing experience that incorporates some exercise can do the 8 km return along the South Rim Trail.
This path allows for more views of the falls dropping into the canyon below.
