BC CDC identifies 19 more Vancouver flights with COVID-19 exposures

The BC Centre for Disease Control has identified 19 more flights with COVID-19 cases on board that have passed through British Columbian airports in recent days.

The flights were added to the BC CDC’s list of public exposures on December 17 and 19.

Although in-flight transmission is rare, the BC CDC is still warning travellers who were on the flights to monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

On December 4, Air Canada flight 25 from Vancouver to Shanghai carried a passenger with COVID-19. Rows 20 to 26 are affected.

On December 5, WestJet flight 122, which flew from Vancouver to Calgary, reported a virus case on board. Rows 2 to 8 are affected.

On December 6, Air Canada flight 45 from Delhi to Vancouver carried a passenger with coronavirus. Rows 22 to 28 are affected.

The same day, Air Canada flight 212 from Vancouver to Calgary had a positive virus case on board, with rows 19 to 25 affected.

Also on December 6, Pacific Coastal Airlines flight 108, which travelled from Victoria to Vancouver, reported a COVID-19 case. Rows 2 to 10 are affected.

Pacific Coastal Airlines flight 457, which flew from Vancouver to Trail on December 6, also reported a case. Rows 2 to 10 are affected.

On December 9, Air Canada/Jazz flight 8243 from Terrace to Vancouver confirmed a case of COVID-19 on board, but affected rows have not been reported.

On December 11, WestJet flight 3241 from Calgary to Kamloops carried an infected passenger, and rows 8 to 14 are affected.

The same day, Air India flight 185 from Delhi to Vancouver confirmed a case of coronavirus. Rows 40 to 46 are affected.

Also on December 11, WestJet flight 3342, which travelled from Calgary to Kelowna, had a case of COVID-19. Rows 15 to 19 are affected.

On December 12, Air Canada flight 201 from Calgary to Vancouver carried an infected passenger. Row 4, as well as rows 12 to 15, are affected.

The same day, Air Canada flight 8253 from Vancouver to Nanaimo reported a virus case, with rows 2 to 8 affected.

Also on December 12, Flair airlines flight 8418, which flew from Toronto to Vancouver, had a COVID-19 case on board. Rows 23 to 29 are affected.

December 12’s Air Canada/Lufthansa flight 9101/492 from Frankfurt to Vancouver also had a passenger with coronavirus on board. Rows 38 to 42 are affected.

On December 13 WestJet flight 711 from Toronto to Vancouver reported a positive case. Rows 7 to 13 are affected.

On December 14 Air Canada/United Airlines flight 555/8417 from Los Angeles to Vancouver confirmed a COVID-19 case on board. Affected rows are from 12 to 14.

Also on December 14, Air Canada/United Airlines flight 8075/8435 from Vancouver to Victoria reported a virus case. Rows 17 to 20 are affected.

On December 16, Air Canada flight 242, which flew from Vancouver to Edmonton, had a passenger with coronavirus on board. Rows 24 to 30 are affected.

The same day, Air Canada/Jazz flight 8208 from Prince George to Vancouver confirmed a case, with rows 14 to 20 affected.
