If you’ve been sick of the warm weather in Vancouver, perhaps a peek into what the B.C. fall forecast could look like will cool you down.
First, a disclaimer. The weather predictions made by the Farmers’ Almanac could change quite drastically between now and the official start of fall, which is September 22, 2025, aka just over two months away.
But you can take the weather predictions with a bit more than just a grain of salt, because it sounds exactly like what you’d expect in B.C. and Vancouver during autumn, particularly in recent years.
The Farmers’ Almanac predicts that, for Canada as a whole, temperatures will trend cooler than usual, especially in the eastern provinces. On the other hand, it predicts that B.C. will enjoy some of the warmest and temperate days in fall, particularly in early October and mid-November. We’ve seen this trend in recent years, with warmer temperatures than usual in the province.
Weather records were actually broken in the fall of 2022 due to surprisingly warm October weather. Around mid-October last year, temperatures hovered around 18˚C for a bit before dropping several degrees to more typical B.C. conditions.
That doesn’t mean it’s predicted to be warm the entire month, though, as the fall weather forecast is all over the place.
Higher elevations in B.C. might experience wet snow as early as October.
The Farmers’ Almanac was even bold enough to throw out some predictions for Thanksgiving and Halloween. It predicts that Thanksgiving will feature a “reprieve” from unsettled weather, and predicts partially sunny conditions in B.C.
“Trick-or-treaters across the country should prepare for a chilly and potentially wet evening,” it says.
“British Columbia could face stormy conditions,” it adds.
“Whether you’re planning a Thanksgiving feast or a spooky Halloween night, be sure to keep an eye on the forecast — and your umbrella close at hand.”
Do you keep your umbrella close at hand during the wet months? Or do you like to take free showers in the B.C. rain? Let us know in the comments.
