Health officials report 12 new cases of coronavirus in BC

British Columbia health officials have reported 12 new cases of coronavirus in the province as of Tuesday afternoon.

A written statement from BC Health Minister Adrian Dix and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said this case brings the province’s total count to 2,990.

And of the total number of cases, 162 are active, with 16 individuals hospitalized, four of whom are in intensive care.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 1,013 cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 1,576 in the Fraser Health region, 133 in the Island Health region, 203 in the Interior Health region, and 65 in the Northern Health region.

“There have been no new COVID-19 related deaths, for a total of 183 deaths in British Columbia.”

A total of 2,645 people who tested positive are now considered fully recovered as well.
