Company culture is an important part of any job, and 22 companies right here in B.C. were named among the best of the bunch in Forbes‘ North American ranking.
Forbes recently put out its 2026 edition of the Best Employers for Company Culture list.
According to Forbes, the list was compiled “Given the importance of company culture to both employees and employers, and to identify workplaces that have created thriving environments.”
“Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista and surveyed more than 37,000 Canadian-based employees at companies with at least 500 people in the country,” Forbes said.
Canadian and American companies populated the list of 200; however, B.C. didn’t crack the top 20.
22 B.C. employers named for best company culture
#24: BC Hydro

The top-ranked B.C. employer that made the list was none other than BC Hydro, which ranked #24. Forbes suggests that BC Hydro employs over 7,300 people.
“The company operates three thermal generating plants and 30 hydroelectric facilities,” Forbes notes about the utility.
#31: BCIT

BCIT also made the list, coming in at #31. The British Columbia Institute of Technology is a popular school for trades and arts, like digital arts and media programs. Forbes says BCIT employs 2,700 people.
#38: Aritzia

Aritzia ranked #38 for best company culture. The super popular brand based right here in Vancouver has grown tremendously since it started.
“The company was founded by Brian Hill in 1984 and is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada,” Forbes writes.
#67: TransLink

It’s no surprise that TransLink made the list. Based on all accounts and behind-the-scenes social media posts, Metro Vancouver’s transit agency looks like a great place to work.
Forbes says that TransLink employs over 8,500 people.
#71: Cactus Club Cafe

The iconic Cactus Club is one of the spots to land on the Forbes list, ranking #71. Founded in the late ’80s, Forbes states that Cactus has 1,000 employees.
The remaining B.C. employers that made the list are Best Buy (#75), the Provincial Health Services Authority (#88), UBC (#97), lululemon (#110), West Fraser Timber (#125), Vancouver Coastal Health (#130), A&W Food Services (#154), Coastal Community Credit Union (#155), Hootsuite (#166), Island Health (#174), Richmond School Distrit (#176), Earls Restaurants (#179), Interior Health Authority (#181), North Vancouver School District (#188), SFU (#190), Lordco (#194), and Fortinet (#200).
