B.C. dominates list of best views in Canada in new study

Millions of travellers from around the world come to British Columbia for the super, natural sights each year, and they’re leaving delighted with what they see.

A new study by Remitly revealed which landmarks, viewing points and popular tourist spots in Canada were positively reviewed by visitors.

B.C. dominated the list of the Top 30 viewpoints in Canada, with a third of the destinations located throughout the province.

“With plenty of stunning views for locals and those new to the country, it’s easy to see why the North American nation is so popular with people around the world,” said Remitly.

“Whether you’re planning a short trip to soak up some of the country’s breathtaking natural landscapes or planning a big move to Canada, finding new viewpoints to admire is a great way to explore and get a feel for a new place.”

Remitly analyzed nearly half a million tourist reviews to see which had the highest percentage of positive mentions of the word ‘view’ to come up with the results of their study.

Three of the top five viewpoints in Canada were in B.C., with Mount Maxwell Provincial Park on Salt Spring Island coming in second, Mount Tolmie Park in Victoria placing third, and Soames Hill landing in fourth.

Metro Vancouver was also well represented in the new study, with Burnaby Mountain Park placing ninth, Quarry Rock Hike in North Vancouver at number 14, and Cypress Provincial Park right behind at 15.

Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish also cracked the Top 30 views in Canada list and had the highest number of reviews for any viewpoint in B.C.
