British Columbians have the opportunity to celebrate and honour individuals and organizations in their community who inspire us to achieve greatness, but time is running out.

The BC Achievement Foundation has opened its 2025 call for nominations for its five annual award programs.

Nominations will help spotlight the incredible impact these people and groups have across the province and will be accepted online until Saturday, February 15.

“Recognizing excellence in community service inspires, encourages participation, strengthens bonds, raises awareness, and sustains the impact of community initiatives, ultimately leading to the growth and well-being of communities,” said Kiran Toor, 2023 Community Award recipient, in a release.

Nominations are open for the following BC Achievement Foundation awards programs:

  • Community Award
  • BC Reconciliation Award
  • Indigenous Business Award
  • Polygon First Nations Art Award
  • Sam Carter Applied Art + Design Award

According to the foundation, achievement is about more than success; it is the result of dedication to make a difference.

“This is really important because it’s setting the stage for what partnerships and business projects can look like and how it benefits not only First Nations, but the community and beyond,” said a representative of the Nch’Kay Development Corporation, 2024 Indigenous Business Award recipient, in a statement.

BC Achievement was established in 2003 as an independent foundation that spotlights the province’s artists, entrepreneurs, youth, community leaders, and volunteers.
