Vancouver is home to many of the world’s finest, so it’s not surprise that badminton is now making the list. This past summer, Badminton Vancouver opened their courts on Mitchell Island boasting a world-class facility that is the second of its kind in North America. The state of the art facility offers twelve courts featuring Mondo badminton floor, which is the same supplies to the Olympic Games. And while the Mondo flooring won’t necessarily guarantee that you can play like an Olympian, you can certainly learn from one.
Badminton Vancouver’s program director is two-time Olympian and five-time Canadian National Champion, Anna Rice. After more than twelve years of International competition and ten years in the Danish Pro League, Anna is now focusing her efforts on coaching the sport she loves. Anna brings with her more than fifteen years of coaching experience.
If badminton isn’t your sport, you can also visit the Mezzanine Cafe that is spearheaded by former chef and sous chef at Quattro on 4th Subraaz Abdullah. Did I mention it was licensed? The Mezz Cafe offers food & drinks, relaxing atmosphere and entertainment on their large screen TV. To me, they sound like a winning team.
