Bad Bunny Super Bowl halftime show featured two superstar surprises

The Super Bowl LX halftime show rocked Levi’s Stadium, and it featured two surprise superstar performers.

It was a bit of a snooze-fest of a Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks coming into the half. Neither team had found the end zone through the first two quarters, and the Seahawks were riding a 9-0 lead off three field goals.

The halftime show had to inject some energy into the stadium, and it did just that.

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny headlined the event, performing fully in Spanish with an elaborate stage across the field. The 31-year-old is coming off three Grammy wins and, with over 90 million monthly Spotify listeners, carries more than enough star power to headline a show of this magnitude.

He did, however, have a few surprises up his sleeve during the performance. The biggest curveball was American pop icon Lady Gaga taking to the stage to sing “Die With a Smile.”

This is Gaga’s first time performing at the Super Bowl since she headlined the Super Bowl LI halftime show back in 2017. Coincidentally enough, the Patriots were also playing in that big game.

That wasn’t the only guest star to make an appearance in the show, as fellow Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin also had a chance to shine. He sang a portion of Bad Bunny’s “LO QUE LE PASƓ A HAWAii” to a huge ovation from the crowd.

It was a halftime show that broke new ground, with Bad Bunny being the first headliner to perform entirely in Spanish. There was no Drake diss in this year’s event, as Kendrick Lamar did at last season’s Super Bowl LIX.

The point of every halftime show is to entertain and inject energy into the stadium, and it seems like Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, and Ricky Martin were able to deliver just that.
