Get ready to feel a pang of pure Canadian jealousy. This massive backyard hockey rink is the stuff Canadian dreams are made of.
While almost the entire country (save for Vancouver) currently experiences a cold snap that would devastate less resilient stock, here in the True North, Canadians are making the most of the harsh conditions by embracing time-honoured winter-time traditions like building massive ice rinks in their backyards.
Youtuber Sid Roth posted this absolutely epic 40′ by 100′ ice rink surrounded by fresh powder and lit by string lights hung through tree branches.
When reached by email, Roth shares with Daily Hive that the rink is located about 30 minutes from Ottawa and was built by his father, Carl Roth with help from himself and two brothers.
The rink of dreams (CHECK OUT REST OF VIDEO LINK IN BIO) it definitely gets better ~~~ This is a special video to me because it represents a glimpse of the countless memories spent on our backyard hockey rink. This was created for my Dad for Christmas. He’s the one who puts this awesome rink up for the last 15 years with the help of us kids. It has been an awesome way for our family and friends to have fun playing this sweet Canadian sport. I am SO fortunate to have incredibly supportive parents!
