Attempted abduction of 9-year-old girl from White Rock Elementary School

White Rock RCMP is investigating an attempted abduction of a nine-year-old girl on the grounds of White Rock Elementary School.

Police say the incident occurred on Friday and a report of the incident was only received on Tuesday.

It happened at approximately 3:30 p.m., just after the school day, when the girl was at the playground of the elementary school located at 1273 Fir Street in White Rock. An unknown male tried to lure the young girl to his vehicle.

The abduction suspect is described to be a Caucasian male, approximately 20 to 30 years old, with a bald head, and tattoos on both arms. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt with red writing and beige shorts.

According to a police statement, the suspect left the area on foot and the child was not injured.

RCMP investigators are in the process of identifying and speaking to potential witnesses, reads a statement by Constable Shaileshni Molison. We ask anyone who may have information as to the identity of the suspect or who may have witnessed this incident to call police.
