VPD seeking witnesses after woman knocked unconscious in assault

Vancouver Police are appealing to the public for information following the late-night assault of a woman on Vancouver’s west side.

In a release, police said that just before 2 am yesterday, a 31-year-old woman was walking by alone on Cambie Street, between West 46th and West 44th Avenue.

All of the sudden, an unknown suspect approached the woman from behind and shoved her to the ground.

The woman fell to the ground and the impact knocked her unconscious.

Upon regaining consciousness, the woman went home and called police.

She was transported to hospital for minor injuries and was later released.

“The motive for the attack is unclear and investigators are trying to piece together the available evidence,” said VPD Sgt. Jason Robillard.
