Sal Ferreras and Drum Heat is an evening of exciting and innovative percussion to fundraise for Arts Umbrella’s Surrey location to help Surrey children access arts programming.
Inviting musicians of the world music and jazz genres to join him for this evening on fundraising, Salvador Ferreras, along with percussionists Gurp Sian, Rayman and Karn Bhuller, bassist Jodi Proznick and pianist Miles Black (and many more) will heat up the Surrey Arts Centre on February 12 to raise money for Arts Umbrella Surrey, a non-profit organization.
Sal Ferreras is incredibly well known in the percussion world, especially in Vancouver where his talent stretches beyond performance into the realm of motivational speaking with his TedTalk ‘The Rhythm is going to get you’. Ferreras has long been a longlife supporter of the arts and feels passionate about children from any walk of life having access to them, and he says, “This is why helping Surrey kids access the arts at Arts Umbrella is important”.
Sal Ferraras and Drum Heat is just another remind of Arts Umbrella’s legacy of inspring children to pursue music and creativity. An electric evening of drumming from Latin America, Brazil, Cuba, India, and more is what audiences can expect from this benefit concert that helps create arts opportunities for at-risk local children.
Sal Ferraras and Drum Heat is on February 12 at the Main Stage at the Surrey Arts Centre, 13750-88 Avenue, Surrey. Tickets start at $50.
