7 artists you can see at the Vancouver Christmas Market this year

Vancouver’s favourite holiday tradition is almost here.

The long-awaited Vancouver Christmas Market will be taking over Jack Poole Plaza from November 22 to December 24. So you’ll want to visit at least once.

This year you can expect big things from the market with more than 75 huts stuffed with sweets, treats, and treasures. And there’s going to be authentic German delicacies, warming Glühwein (mulled wine), old world confections, a 30-foot tall walk-in Christmas tree, and glittering carousel.

But that’s not all.

There’s an epic entertainment lineup on the brand new Christmas pyramid ‘Flying Stage’ which will be perched 10 feet high above the market. With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of seven acts you’ll want to check out at the market.

The Ukuladies

This musical duo from Richmond is made up of longtime friends Alana Zerbe and Becca Wade. They have been performing together for over a decade and you’re going to want to hear their mellow sounds at the market.

Energetic performer Ari Neufeld just recently moved to BC from Austin, Texas. He has travelled the world as a musician and songwriter, playing acoustic/electric guitars, banjo, piano, and Ukelele.

When: November 29, 7 to 9 pm

Vicky Sjohall

You can check out talented singer/songwriter Vicky Sjohall at this year’s market where her stage presence, voice, and infectious energy, will no doubt wow you. BTW her music is original, too.

Melanie Dekker

This soulful roots-pop entertainer plays 100 concerts a year. She’s a prolific writer and her achievements include hit songs and 6 albums. Now you can hear her perform live on November 28.

When: November 28, 4:30 to 6:30 pm

Phat Santa Swing

Go along to the Vancouver Christmas Market to hear Phat Santa Swing perform all the holiday music you know and love. Think traditional Christmas Carols to popular Christmas songs, and much more.

Sm:)e Band

This girl band hail from Burnaby and Surrey consisting of Gabbie Evans, Avery Amores, and Veronica Amores. They perform a wide variety of music from pop, rock, and oldies -complete with vocal harmonies.

Soul 2 Life Duo

You’re in for a treat as vocalist Sharon Bryson and drummer Elijah Jean specialize in everything from R&B, to soul, hip-hop, jazz, funk, Motown, and gospel. So you never know what they’ll sing!

When: November 24, 7 to 9 pm | November 27, 4:30 to 6:30 pm
