Fault In Our Stars breakout Ansel Elgort set to take over Celebrities on Friday

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, Stereotype Friday at Celebrities Nightclub is packing extra star power.

Friday, October 2 marks the Vancouver debut of Ansolo – better known as Ansel Elgort.

Over the past year, Elgort’s celebrity status has skyrocketed with a career making role as Augustus Waters in the adaptation of John Green’s New York Times bestseller “The Fault in our Stars.” Add to this his supporting role as brooding Caleb Prior in the blockbuster Divergent series and you have all the makings of a modern day heartthrob.

After sweeping the 2014 award circuit with multiple nominations and wins at the Teen Choice Awards, the MTV Movie Awards and the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, Elgort decided to spread out his talent in pursuit of his musical passions.

In a world where countless celebrities seemingly think that they can do it all, Elgort stands a league above the rest. In just over a year’s time, he has been embraced by the dance music community and graced the main stage at two of the world’s most prestigious electronic music festivals: Electric Zoo in New York and Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

Following remixes for Lana Del Rey, Felix Cartal and Martin Garrix, his first original production was the hard hitting progressive anthem “Unite.” Elgort followed up with “Totem,” and “To Life” before branching out to form a side project with one of dance music’s most promising rising stars, Pierce Fulton. Together, Fulton and Elgort released the undeniable groovy “Then Came You” before Elgort set out to film The Divergent Series: Allegiant.

With such a busy schedule, Elgort’s performance at Celebrities on Friday is a rare appearance for Ansolo outside of the festival circuit. It’s not every day that a rising film star rolls through Vancouver to lay down a DJ set.
