Another storm arrives: Wind warning issued for Metro Vancouver

Dec 20 2017, 3:06 am

Brace yourself for the possibility of more power outages as another windstorm will hit the Metro Vancouver region beginning this morning.

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning due to the development of a deep low pressure system that will generate southeast winds of 70 km/hr. In the evening, the wind will veer to the southwest and then gradually ease overnight.

Between 10 to 20 mm of rain could fall during the daytime and another 10 to 15 mm at night.

According to B.C. Hydro, a fallen power line should always be assumed to be live with electricity. Keep a safe distance of at least 10 metres away from the fallen line and call 9-1-1 to report it.
