Canada’s federal Green party concluded its leadership election Saturday, naming Annamie Paul as the new leader for the environmentally-minded political group.
Paul will take over from Elizabeth May, who led the party from 2006 to 2019.
“We can’t wait to write this next chapter together,” the party tweeted Saturday afternoon.
Congratulations, Annamie Paul, leader of the Green Party of Canada!
On the 8th ballot, Annamie won the 2020 GPC Leadership Contest with 12,090 votes.
