Ancora to open its second location in West Vancouver on January 8

One of the first major restaurant openings of the year in the Greater Vancouver area is coming up quick, and we got a first look inside the doors of Ancora’s second West Vancouver location.
The Peruvian-Japanese concept has long been a favourite since opening its doors in False Creek in 2015.
Ancora created buzz for its intriguing ‘Nikkei’ cuisine and extensive wine, sake, and cocktail program featuring South American spirits, which landed it on enRouteMagazine’s 2016 shortlist of Canada’s Best New Restaurants.

Now, this popular South American flare has landed at 1351 Bellevue Avenue in Ambleside, and it is set to officially open its doors next week.
Ancora’s Executive Chef, Ricardo Valverde, will now be splitting his time at both locations with support by Chef de Cuisine Raimund Heuser.

The new location boasts seating for 104 in the dining room and another 38 on its patio, along with a menu of sustainably-sourced dishes made with ingredients from the Pacific Northwest.
Fresh eats such as ceviches, sushi, and ceviches signature to Ancora in False Creek will also be available at Ambleside.
The cocktail menu at this location differs slightly from the OG spot, offering staples we know like the signature Pisco Sour, but new drinks like the Wasabi Margarita are now available on the North Shore.

Ancora Ambleside will be open seven days a week for dinner service to start, expanded lunch and brunch hours are to come.
