Americans Love Vancouver

Dec 19 2017, 11:39 am

As Urban Dweller was basking in the sun in Kitsilano yesterday, I thought I would stay fit by hitting up the grueling Grouse Grind. It was packed!

Looking around, it seemed most people were tourists. Apparently, 75% of visitors in the summer are not local and in the winter it’s vice versa.

So, after finishing the tumultuous hike in just under 40 mins (yeah right) I stood in line waiting for the gondola to get back down. I struck up a conversation with four guys behind me. They were from North Carolina.

The Americans loved the city, saying it was “absolutely beautiful.” They said the nightlife was “way better” than from where they came.

Go figure. Sometimes we take Vancouver for granted, including the nightlife… except sometimes when the suburbans crash the parties lol.
