Facing the reality that Donald Trump could potentially have a fighting chance to become the next President of the United States, these desperate times call for desperate measures.

Earlier today, two Americans went down on their knees to beg Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to run for the office of the U.S. President. It all happened inside a New York City coffee shop, where Trudeau made a pit stop to order a smoked meat sandwich, and was captured on video.

Trudeau declined the request lightheartedly, telling the men he could not run as he was born in Canada.

But the men persisted, with one mentioning Ted Cruz, who is born in Calgary and likely to finish second place in the race for the Republican nomination.

“But all of our guys are so bad, they are so terrible,” said one man, with the other man adding, “They’re either boring, weird, you have to settle for them… please!”

Before parting ways, Trudeau reminded them who he is and that he was happy with his current job.

“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I actually have a job and it’s a pretty good one,” said the Prime Minister.

A growing number of Americans are saying that they will move to Canada if Trump is elected as President in November: In a recent survey conducted by Vox.com, nearly one in three Americans said they want to move north of the border should the real estate mogul win.

Trudeau is in New York this week to meet with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and discuss women’s rights.
