Vancouver's American Cheesesteak Co. has shut its doors (PHOTOS)

It’s been a newsworthy stretch of time for local restaurant closures lately, and another casualty has come to light.

Vancouver’s downtown location of the American Cheesesteak Co. has shuttered.

The Yaletown eatery operated at 781 Davie Street and closed early this month on April 5.

Known for serving contemporary and over the stop cheesesteak subs, the American Cheese Steak Co fed customers in the neighbourhood for seven years before closing.

The eatery posted a sign on its now-shuttered door directing American Cheese Steak fans to head to its Metrotown Mall location at 4700 Kingsway e10 in Burnaby.
