Jeopardy! episodes with the late Alex Trebek as host will continue to air through December 25, 2020.

Trebek’s last day in the studio was October 29, less than two weeks before his passing.

“They will air as he intended, in his honour,” says the game show’s website. The 80-year-old’s final 35 episodes will air “as they were shot,” says Mike Richards, Jeopardy!‘s executive producer. “That’s what he wanted.”

Trebek was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March 2019, and he continued to host Jeopardy! for the following 18 months while remaining open to the public about his battle with cancer.

Alex is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jean, and children Matthew, Emily, and Nicky. The family has announced no plans for a service, but gifts in Alex’s memory could go to World Vision.

Jeopardy! says the show is not announcing plans for a new host at this time.
