The Province of Alberta just announced five more COVID-19-related deaths.
Alberta Premier Jason Kenney made the announcement at a press conference on Friday.
He also noted that Alberta’s total known cases have risen to 1,074.

These deaths bring Alberta’s total coronavirus-related fatalities to 18 and Canada’s total to 153, according to Kenney.
Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw provided details on the new deaths, stating that four of the five had been residents at the McKenzie Towne Continuing Care Centre.
The fifth death was a woman in her 20s in the Edmonton Zone.
Hinshaw stated that it is yet unclear if she had any underlying health conditions.
