Though it is currently winter in New Zealand, spring travel is only a few short months away and Air New Zealand wants to give even those with the smallest of budgets an opportunity to see the kiwi country up close.

In celebration of their 75th anniversary, Air New Zealand announced an exciting partnership with Flight Centre Canada this week to offer 75 round-trip tickets between Vancouver and Auckland for only $475.

On June 17, potential customers can line up at the Flight Centre Ultra Shop at 625 Howe St. with the hopes of being one of the first 75 people in line. Doors will open at 9 a.m., but it is recommended to arrive much earlier.

However, if you were hoping for your pick of dates, the promotion only includes three round-trip date options for a 13-day trip, with 25 tickets available for each departure.

  • Departing September 25, 2015, returning October 7, 2015
  • Departing September 26, 2015, returning October 9, 2015
  • Departing September 27, 2015, returning October 10, 2015

Normal airfare for those dates is currently $1,642.

Air New Zealand’s Facebook page is also running a contest for five lucky people to jump the queue and guarantee their $475 ticket.

The airline runs nonstop service between Vancouver and Auckland, and beginning on October 25, a fleet of completely refitted Boeing 777-200ER aircraft will exclusively operate the Vancouver to Auckland route.

According to Flight Centre, “The refitted Boeing 777-200 includes Air New Zealand’s award-winning Economy Skycouch™, comfortable ink-colored luxury leather seats with leg rests in Premium Economy, as well as lie-flat beds in Business Premier. In addition to delicious Kiwi-inspired cuisine and a great selection of New Zealand wines, customers can also enjoy over 1800 hours of on-demand inflight entertainment available via personal touch screens.”
