Air Canada surprises Canadians in London with holiday flights home (VIDEO)

The giving spirit of Christmas has spread in the Canadian airline industry, with Air Canada releasing a video revealing they recently awarded a London bar full of Canadian ex-pats free round trip tickets home for the holidays.

Right on the heels of rival carrier WestJet’s video, which shows the airline making the Christmas wishes come true for an entire town in the Dominican Republic, Air Canada is in the game of giving with their holiday video, too.

Air Canada pilots chatted up the imbibers gathered at London’s Maple Leaf, a bar that offers a “little piece of Canada in the heart of London,” and learned many would not be able to swing a trip home for the holidays. Then they announce to the crowd that they’re buying a round… a round trip, that is. Tears (and, presumably, beers) flow.

It’s perhaps worth noting that AC may have felt a kinship with this Maple Leaf, since the airline operates a “Maple Leaf Lounge” inside London’s Heathrow Airport.
