To encourage youth to vote, there’s a giant voting party happening tomorrow, October 10 called Turn Up YVR, where a concert bus will deliver youth ages 18 to 24 to their local polling stations to vote in advance.
Turn Up YVR is picking people up at the Broadway-City Hall Canada Line station and providing stops at the following polling stations from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.:
- 11 a.m. – Vancouver Quadra and Vancouver Granville
- 1 p.m. – Vancouver Centre
- 3 p.m. – Vancouver East and Vancouver Kingsway
If your riding isn’t on that list, they will drop you at at the Elections Canada station so you can still vote in advance with a special ballot.
The best part of all? Musicians such as Mother Mother, The Zolas, Dan Magnan, Kuba Oms, Shawn Hall of The Harpoonist & the Axe Murderer and Zaac Pick will accompany voters on board, playing acoustic sets during the bus rides.
So get out and vote in advance this weekend.
