Adopt Me: This young Labrador cross would be a great hiking buddy

Aug 16 2019, 9:45 pm

Love getting outside and exploring the trails around Vancouver? So does Riley.

Have an energetic lust for life?  That’s how Riley rolls.

Can’t wait to spend time with your buds? Ditto for Riley.

(You get the picture.)

Our adoptable animal this week is Riley, a young Labrador-something cross that’s still pretty young — about a year-and-a-half old. In dog years, that’s still puppy energy, and she has lots to spare.

Currently having tons of fun living with a foster family, CAARE Companion Animal Advocacy & Rescue Effort would like to see this sweet girl settled into a forever home soon.

The Vancouver-area non-profit rescue agency, which supports rescue and adoption efforts, describes Riley as “full of energy, loves to hike, and has tons of doggy friends.”

She has also lived with cats and is good with children.

CAARE is looking for a confident owner who can give this girl the physical and mental stimulation she needs. No couch potatoes need apply for this pooch!

“She loves learning new things,” the agency says.

Riley’s adoption fee is $500, which includes microchiping, six weeks of pet insurance, and up-to-date vaccines, deworming, and flea treatment. Interested adopters can email [email protected] for an application and request to meet her.

CAARE also has a number of other pups and puppies in their care that are looking for homes. They can be seen on their Facebook page, Petfinder, and on its website. The agency takes pride in matching adopters with dogs that are suitable for their lifestyle and vice versa.

Two of its adoptable puppies include Apollo and Creed, eight-week-old Husky Shephard mastiff mixes. The brothers are very social and curious.
