Brewsky. The Brewster. Brewmaster. Brewer has gotten himself a lot of nicknames since landing in the pound last month, but unfortunately none of them have helped him find a new home.
A true mixed-breed dog, this handsome lad was found wandering Surrey as a stray. Pretty sad dude too: skin problems, lots of hair loss, open wounds and infected, irritated skin.
The lovely folks at Surrey Animal Resource Centre (SARC) managed to track down his owner, but they gave him up because they couldn’t afford the vet treatment needed — and agreed this pup was better off at the shelter.
Brewer has come a long way since then. His hair is growing back and this friendly four year old is getting more handsome by the minute. He loves walking, and for his size – 65 pounds – he’s very easy to walk. This good boy also knows commands: sit, stay and come.
Shelter staff describe him as easygoing, affectionate and relaxed, but say he’s been passed over often by potential adopters over his “unique look,” because of his previous medical issues.
This pup would be best in an adult-only home with no other animals, because he doesn’t like to share things at home.
“He has really enjoyed getting to be a bit spoiled at the shelter and wants to continue being King of the Castle!” says Kim Marosevich.
“He does well being left alone as he appears to be house trained and not destructive.”
You can visit Brewer – and other great adoptable animals – at SARC from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and fill out an application. You can also check out his profile on their Facebook page.
