DIGNITY VANCOUVER: Photography Exhibit & Auction

Dec 19 2017, 12:56 pm

Acumen Fund proudly presents DIGNITY VANCOUVER, curated by Nuru Project. The photography auction is set to raise funds for non-profits creating social change around the world.

This tremendous partnership will provide a rousing evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and music all while hearing the inspiring story of Acumen Fund. Join them this Thursday May 5, 2011 at Chapel Arts. The photographs themselves are truly spectacular.

Each photograph was taken in a location where Acumen Fund invests, including Kenya, India, and Pakistan, and each image conveys the essence of Acumen Fund’s work and the people its investments reach. The photographs focus on resilience, dignity and humanity against the backdrop of their cultures, communities and daily lives.

Acumen Fund is a pioneering not‐for‐profit venture fund that is changing how the world addresses poverty. Acumen Fund invests patient capital in businesses that deliver critical, affordable goods and services to the world’s poor, improving the lives of millions.

Since its founding in 2001, Acumen Fund has invested more than $50 million in companies that provide access to water, health, energy, housing and agriculture inputs to low‐income consumers in India, Pakistan and Africa.

Nuru Project’s mission is to leverage photography as an agent for social change in the developing world. Nuru Project hosts photography auctions, each centered around a particular issue affecting the developing world. Photographs are donated by the artist, which enables Nuru Project to distribute 100% of the auction proceeds to a non‐profit working to address the issue being presented. Each show also features a strong educational component.
