A Walkability Map of Greater Vancouver

Have you ever ventured outside the city and wondered where are all the people? Even in the southern, more suburban style neighbourhoods of Vancouver you’ll notice people using the sidewalks. You seldom see that in the suburbs, even the highly concentrated neighbourhoods look like ghost towns to passerby’s. This map from 2009 looks at the walkability of the region. Outside the city core, it’s quite pathetic, save for a few spots in the respective cities.
