If you listen to FM radio in Vancouver you might have noticed a change yesterday. 95 Crave is now under the control of Sir Richard Branson and his Virgin empire. Lets see if Virgin Radio 95.3 can gain some of the audience that radio station lost to its main competitor 94.5 The Beat.
I haven’t listened Z err… I mean 95.3 FM in any incarnation since I was a young lad chasing cheerleaders in high school. I ditched that station along time ago for Seattles Kube 93 fm, mainly because of Z’s neglect of the hip-hop genre (the shitty reception didn’t deter me). Anyways, nowadays I’ll take straight goods with DJ Jay Swing and Flipout at the Beat 94.5 or The Fox over 95.3 fm.
For those interested look for this to be a Beat clone with less hip-hop and R&B. Same shit, different owner. This got me thinking, I think Vancity is ready for an all hip-hop and R&B radio station. Don’t you?
