77-year-old man charged with second-degree murder in Kitsilano

A 77-year-old man was charged with second-degree murder this week, in connection with the death of a senior woman in Vancouver in December 2016.

In what was the city’s 11th homicide of the year, Gordon Humeny has been charged in the death of 71-year-old Donna Humeny.

The case was opened on December 6, when police were called to a home near West 13th Avenue and MacDonald Street.

Upon arrival, the body of a woman was discovered.

Detectives from VPD’s Homicide Unit took over the investigation and the incident is now before the courts.
