62-year-old man arrested for fatal hit and run in Surrey

A male suspect was arrested by Mounties for the fatal Tuesday night hit-and-run that killed a 16-year-old boy in Surrey.

The 62-year-old was picked up by police at his home yesterday afternoon. Charges of criminal negligence in addition to failing to stay at the scene of the incident have been recommended.

The incident itself occurred at 96th and 123A Street where the car hit the teenager who was riding a motorcycle.

The suspect’s name has not been released and by confidentiality laws for minors, the teenager’s name has not been released.
