500,000 people heat up the streets for Vancouver Pride Parade 2014 (PHOTOS)

Vancouver’s Pride Week and the largest event weekend of the year came to a colourful conclusion in the streets of downtown on Sunday with the Vancouver Pride Parade.

An estimated 500,000 spectators attended the 20 city block long event that began at noon on Robson and Thurlow Streets, traveling down Denman Street and Beach Avenue, before ending at Sunset Beach – the site of the Pride Festival and Market.

There were plenty of dazzling costumes, sexy bodies, rainbow flags, water guns, glitter, a Queen Elizabeth impersonator, and politicians including Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson and federal Liberal Party Leader Justin Trudeau.

The parade began at noon and ended at 3 p.m. The entire affair followed the final fireworks show of the Celebration of Light held just hours before.
