Happy Hour – A Future We Can’t Afford?

  • What: An evening of drinks, discussion and a participatory video booth to find out what young Vancouverites really thinks about affordability in the city.
  • Where: Museum of Vancouver – 1100 Chestnut Street, Vancouver
  • When: 6 to 9 p.m.

World Music Festival

  • What: Set your sights further afield with bands from Mexico, India, Columbia, Nicaragua and Brazil over two nights, in support of The Canucks Autism Network. Tickets $25 in advance, $30 at the door or $45 for weekend passes.
  • Where: Rio Theatre – 1660 East Broadway, Vancouver
  • When: Doors at 6 p.m. Show at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night.

Earth Day Celebration – Sustainable Fashion

  • What: Find out more about sustainable fashion, textile and design practices. Even better, you get to vote for which movie to watch on registration. Entry is completely free.
  • Where: Homesteader’s Emporium, 649 E. Hastings Street, Vancouver
  • When: Doors at 4 p.m., movie at 5 p.m., discussion at 7:30 p.m.

Chick Corea and Bela Fleck

  • What: Master songwriters, musicians and bandleaders Chick Corea and Bela Fleck come together for an evening of piano and banjo duets. Tickets $74 – $96 from Ticket Fly.
  • Where: The Orpheum – 601 Smithe Street, Vancouver
  • When: 8 p.m.

Cagematch Improv

  • What: Three teams get 20 minutes each to impress you in a no-holds barred improvised comedy slugfest – then you get to vote for the winner! Tickets are $8 from Instant Theatre.
  • Where: Havana Theatre – 1212 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
  • When: 10:30 p.m.
