Kings Head Comedy

  • What: Every Tuesday, catch Kings Head Comedy: a stand-up comedy showcase hosted by Colin Sharp and James Kennedy and featured as part of the Just For Laughs Northwest Comedy Festival. Consistently packed with some of the best comedy fans in the city, audiences are rewarded with a stellar lineup of comics and $3.50 beers. Faces from HBO, Conan, and Just for Laughs bring the house down every week and keep crowds coming back for more. Tickets are only $5 at the door.

The Twitch

  • What: Twitch began its journey early 2002 with a bunch of friends, who got together, and discovered they could “Rock Out”, and write songs. Soon gigs followed, a cd, and then radio airplay, then touring. As the band grew, and songs flowed out like wine The Twitch performed at the CAMEO Music Festivals 2002, 2003, 2004 & 2005 in Mission & Langley Canada. The Twitch also graced the stages of Retrofest 2005, in Chilliwack, Canada, they backed up legendary bands like The Edgar Winter Band, Rick Derringer, Blue Oyster Cult, Jefferson Starship & It’s A Beautiful Day! In the same year, 2005, they were nominated for “Original Band Of 2005”, at the CAMEO Music Awards. The band has also performed at the In Harmony Music Festivals 2003, 2004 & 2005 in WhiteRock/Surrey Canada, and at Emergenza Music Festival 2005 & 2006 in Vancouver Canada.

The Fictionals presents: I <3 You!

  • What: Comedy inspired by true confessions & love connections. Join The Fictionals and friends at Cafe Deux Soleils for improv with heart, and spark a connection with that special someone!
  • Where: Cafe Deux Soleil – 2096 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
  • When: Tuesday, April 19; 8 to 9:30 p.m.

MUSICAL MORNINGS IN THE GALLERY

  • What: Start the day off right with salon-style classical music concerts in the gallery.Our morning begins with coffee, tea, treats and mingling with friends and neighbours, followed by a tour of the current exhibition in the Gordon Smith Gallery, hosted by the exhibition’s curator. After the tour, audiences take a seat and enjoy the serene sounds of classical music ringing through the gallery awakening a new understanding of the visual art on the walls.

Free Fair to Help Students Explore University Options

  • What: Students and parents are invited to dive into the university search process at the Vancouver International Universities Fair,held on Saturday, May 7 at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, BC, Canada from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
