Election day isn’t here yet, Thanksgiving is over, and Halloween hasn’t even started. What are you to do? Here are a few ideas.
Check out the Vancouver Events Calendar for a few more.
Madisen Ward & the Mama Bear
- What: A mother and son music duo from Kansas, Madisen Ward & the Mama Bear combined folk and rock-and-roll. What comes out in a musical act with the power of its folk roots, and the emotional grounding of a mother and son. You don’t want to miss it.
- Where: The Cultch – 1895 Venables Street, Vancouver
- When: Thursday, October 15; 7:30 p.m.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
- What: Let’s do the Time Warp tonight. The beloved, and totally insane, Rocky Horror Picture Show is being put on by Capilano University’s theatre department, and it’s the hype surrounding it is strong. If you’re a Rocky Horror fan, you know exciting this will be, and if you’re not you will be.
- Where: BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts – 2055 Purcell Way, North Vancouver
- When: Thursday, October 15; 8 p.m.
Lost ’80s Live
- What: A live show like a shot of pure, uncut ’80s right to the main vein. Wang Chung, Animotion, When in Rome: it’s a who’s-who in who-was.
- Where: River Rock Casino Resort – 8811 River Road, Richmond
- When: Thursday, October 15; 7 p.m.
Mike MacDonald
- What: Mike MacDonald is one of the stalwart pillars of the Canadian comedy scene. Fast, funny, and sharp as a knife, you’ve definitely seen him, even if you don’t think you have. He’s been on the Royal Canadian Air Farce, Letterman, and the Arsenio Hall Show. For good reason, too.
- Where: Yuk Yuk’s – 2837 Cambie Street, Vancouver
- When: Thursday, October 15; 8 p.m.
Star Captains
- What: Vancouver-based fusion group Star Captains are hitting up Guilt & Co. tonight. A mix of rock, soul, rhythm, and beats, they’ll have you moving before you know it. Sounds cliched, but it’s no less true for it.
- Where: Guilt & Co. – 1 Alexander Street, Vancouver
- When: Thursday, October 15; 9:30 p.m.
