47 vehicles keyed at North Vancouver car dealership lots, $100,000 in damage
RCMP are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who is alleged to have vandalized 47 vehicles from various car dealership lots in North Vancouver.
The incident occurred earlier this month between August 2 to 4, sometime over the BC Day long weekend. Police believe the unknown suspect walked through the car lots and scratched the vehicles with a key like object.
The average cost to repair each vehicle is estimated to be around $2,000 and the total repair cost will be approximately $100,000.
Police have extensively viewed the footage of various security cameras and have identified a person of interest
, said Cpl. Richard De Jong, of the North Vancouver RCMP. We need this person identified and spoken to.
The person of interest is described as pictured:
- A caucasian male
- Between 50 to 60 years old
- Heavier set and balding
- At the time of the incident, he was wearing a yellow shirt, green shorts, black watch and black boots
