North Vancouver fire crews have rescued three swimmers who jumped into the waters under the free-of-charge Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge.
The swimmers got in trouble at approximately 4 p.m. after jumping 20 feet down from the rocks. Fire crews were called to the scene when one female, who was one of the three jumpers, said she was experiencing symptoms of hypothermia.
While the weather has been sunny and warm, the waters in local streams and rivers can be extremely cold as they are sourced from glacier and snow-melt water.
The bridge is suspended 50 metres above the canyon and is part of a network of nearby hiking trails.
