3 Steps to transition your makeup from day to night

For us busy gals on the go it can be tricky trying to head straight to a holiday party after a long day at work. I have three simple steps to help you add some oomph to your day time makeup look and get you looking party time fabulous!

Eyeliner:

Winged out eyeliner is an easy way to change your eye look without much effort. I find that the easiest way to get a nice wing is to draw a line angled from your outer corner to the end of your eyebrow, and then connect the tip to your lash line. All that’s left is filling in the blank gap! If you already have your top lid winged out, perfect! If you’re not comfortable with the winged look, opt for a thin, sleek line on your upper lid and then using your finger or an angled eyeliner brush, smudge black liner into your waterline for that smokey, sultry look.

Lips:

When it comes to an evening lip color I have two, never fail, options. You can go glam and rock a vampy red, which is super festive and fun. Just remember to line those lips to keep the color from bleeding! The red lip I have my eye on right now is Dubonnet by MAC.  If red isnt your scene, opt for a classic, sexy nude. My favorite nude lip combo is Dolce Vita by Nars, topped off with Soap and Glorys’ Sexy Mother Pucker in Half Naked. (This is a plumping gloss so it’ll leave your lips looking full and pouty!)

Contour:

A light, powder contour will give your face more structure and dimension and it’s the perfect finishing touch for any evening look! A few quick sweeps of bronzer under your cheekbones, jawline and edges of your forehead will give your look a polished, put together feel.

Bonus Step – Lashes!

If you’re feeling ambitous, you can skip the eye shadow all together and take two to three minutes to pop on some falsies!  Lashes will pull your entire look together and add a touch of glam. I strongly recommend Ardell lashes, they’re great quality and budget friendly.

Incorporating these three elements, including lashes, shouldn’t take anyone more than 15 minutes.  Remember, makeup is your friend, don’t over think it and as long as you’re happy with the end result, that’s all that matters!

Happy Holidays from your friendly, neighborhood beauty addict!
