3 young men charged in triple stabbing on Granville Strip

Three young men have now been charged in connection with a 3 am triple stabbing on the Granville Strip on October 20.

The incident began with a fight involving two groups of men and women in their 20s and early 30s, and ended with four people sent to hospital – three in serious condition.

It happened on a busy stretch of Granville Street near Helmcken Street.

Several people were arrested after the incident.

On Monday, the VPD announced charges had been approved against three men allegedly involved.

Sigfredo Aguirre, 18, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and assault causing bodily harm.

Justin Purewal, a 21-year-old from Vancouver, and a 17-year-old youth from Delta, whose name has not been released, have both been charged with aggravated assault.
