25 photos and videos of China's Celebration of Light fireworks
On Saturday, Team China took over the night skies of English Bay for the first fireworks show celebrating the Honda Celebration of Light’s 25th anniversary.
An estimated 250,000 people crammed downtown Vancouver’s beaches to watch the 25 minute spectacle that began at 10 p.m. The show was put on by the Jiangxi Province Lidu Fireworks Corporation.
There were no major incidents during the fireworks night, with Vancouver Police reporting only liquor pour-outs and fines for smoking.

The next show will be held by Team Brazil on Wednesday, July 29. This year’s fireworks festival will be concluded by Team Canada on Saturday, August 1. At this time, weather forecasts for both dates are optimal for fireworks viewing.
