There’s a cool promo happening April 5 to 7 in Vancouver that will find lucky commuters scoring 16-ounce cups of fresh-brewed coffee for a mere 22 cents.
That’s right: It’s not even going to cost you a quarter to get your java jolt, courtesy Doi Chaang Coffee, who are celebrating Songkran (the Thai New Year Festival) with this terrific deal.
Doi Chaang Coffee will be brewing up their premium, organic certified, beyond fair trade coffee from Thailand pop-up coffee shop-style at Burrard Station on April 5, 6, and 7 from 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. (or until supplies run out).
Doi Chaang Coffee Company is a local Vancouver family-owned, funded and operated venture recognized for its unique “beyond fair trade” business structure.
What does “beyond fair trade” mean, anyhow? Doi Chaang explains that the coffee farmers in the Northern Thailand village of Doi Chang own 50% of the company and receive 50% of the profits earned. The company hopes that by popping up during Songkran, Vancouverites can learn about “beyond fair trade” coffee while getting to taste the brew at a crazy-good price.
Commuters who happen to be coffee lovers will have their choice of their Social Medium (a medium blend) and Hardwired (dark roast blend), for only $0.22 a cup. Not on the menu: Doi Chaang’s “cat poop” coffee, which was being sampled this month in Toronto.
